HGFC 129 Nobell Gundam Berserker Mode Review: What to Expect from the Backorder Kit

The HGFC 129 Nobell Gundam Berserker Mode has been a highly anticipated kit for Gundam fans, especially those who missed the initial release. As a backorder item, many builders are wondering if it lives up to the hype. In this review, we'll break down the kit's features, build experience, and overall value.

Whether you're a seasoned modeler or a newcomer to the hobby, understanding what this kit offers is crucial before committing to a backorder. Let's dive into what makes the Nobell Gundam Berserker Mode a standout addition to any collection.

Unboxing and First Impressions

The HGFC 129 Nobell Gundam Berserker Mode arrives in a standard-sized box with striking artwork depicting the mobile suit in its berserker state. Inside, you'll find several runners of dark-colored plastic, a foil sticker sheet for accents, and a clear polycap runner. The parts count is moderate, making it a manageable build for intermediate builders.

One of the first things you'll notice is the unique design of the Berserker Mode, which features exaggerated proportions and menacing face details. The kit includes parts for both standard and berserker configurations, allowing you to display it in either mode. The plastic quality feels solid, with no flash or warping evident on the sprues.

• Includes parts for standard and berserker mode display.
• Dark plastic colors with foil stickers for key details.
• Moderate part count suitable for intermediate builders.

Build Experience and Articulation

The assembly process is straightforward, with clear instructions that guide you through each step. The torso and arms come together quickly, and the polycaps provide good articulation for dynamic poses. The legs feature double-jointed knees and a wide range of motion at the hips, allowing for powerful stances.

One highlight is the head sculpt, which includes a removable face plate to switch between the standard Gundam face and the berserker expression. The arms can hold the included beam saber and shield securely. However, the back skirt armor can be a bit loose, so a small amount of cement or paint may be needed for a tighter fit.

• Double-jointed knees for deep bends.
• Interchangeable face plates for two expressions.
• Back skirt armor may require minor tightening.

Value for Backorder Buyers

Given that this kit is on backorder, it's important to consider whether it's worth the wait. The HGFC 129 Nobell Gundam Berserker Mode offers a unique design that stands out from other Gundam kits.
